Let me start by saying I’m very excited to post my first ever sealed section. Here goes:
The day before I left Australia I found out that my ex-husband’s partner had decided to surprise him with a (solo) trip to China to watch Jono in the World Games. I know. What could possibly go wrong?
Apparently everything.
The population of Chengdu is 21 million people. So, almost the entire population of Australia. It is impossible to know how many hotels there are, but booking.com has at least 200.
You can see where this is going, can’t you? Out of all the hotels in Chengdu that she could possibly have chosen, which one do you think she picked?
Yes, you win the prize. So I spent three hours a day sharing a Didi with my ex to and from the Games. Which was mostly fine, except for the one time when the driver refused to turn on the air conditioning and drove at 40km under the speed limit. That one was technically my fault as I ‘booked’ it. Also, that driver is lucky to still be alive. Hongry (Hot Angry) Tina is scary. We drove for 1.5 hours on the motorway with our windows down. I tried to throw myself out of the vehicle several times. Ex-husband probably considered it more times.
On the last morning, he ordered the Didi and then when it went to the wrong spot, he dragged me across 8 lanes of traffic and nearly got us killed. I did ask the group at that point if you can get divorced a second time.
He refused to sit next to me at Games, in case of another KissCamGate. Thank you for something Coldplay.
He was saved by the quality of his videos – the World Games live streamed all the shit games we lost, but not the good ones that we won. You can see them here.
